FAQs

Here are some of the frequently asked questions about storing with us.  If you have any other questions, please contact us!

Where are you located?
We are just 15-20 minutes north of Oconomowoc off of Highway 67.  We don’t disclose our physical location on our website or elsewhere, only to those who rent with us. That keeps those curious folks away from your beloved vehicles.

Can I take my car out at any time?
All cars, boats, and motorcycles are not parked in.  You lock it up and keep the keys.  We don’t allow continuous access, but when the warm weather returns, you won’t be parked in.

Do you just store cars?
Typically, we are full of cars, but we do have space for boats on trailers and other items needing heated storage as well.  We can also store a limited number of RVs, travel trailers, or motor homes.

For anything other than cars or motorcycles, please send us an e-mail with the length of the item you wish to store.  For items on trailers, measure from the tip of the tongue to the rear-most point.  We will use a standard 10 foot width for most items. Contact us for a quote.

How does the rental process work?
Great choice to rent with us and we appreciate your business!  Here’s what you need to get started:

  1. Contact us to reserve your spot. We’ll need to know what you would like to store and when (approximately) you want to store it. We’ll confirm availability and then arrange to collect your deposit.
  2. Your spot will be officially reserved once you submit a deposit of the first month’s rent amount which will be applied toward your rental charges. We will send an online invoice that you can pay via securely via credit card.
  3. Once we receive your deposit, we will send you a welcome packet with our location, summary of rental policies as well as a “before you drop off” checklist of helpful reminders.
  4. You can then schedule a time to bring in your vehicle for the official “drop-off” whenever you wish. That is when your official rental period begins. On the day of drop off, we will send you an invoice for two added months of rent that you can pay online before you arrived.
  5. We will also send you an online rental agreement that you can electronically sign before you arrive. .
  6. We do not hold insurance on your vehicle while you store with us.  We require you to provide us with proof of insurance with a valid expiration date along with a copy of the proof of title or registration of your vehicle.
  7. When you drop off your vehicle, we’ll document your vehicle’s condition, and get it snug under its cover, plugged in, and put it to sleep for the winter.
  8. Rents are calculated by the day, so you only pay for the days you are stored with us.
  9. At pick up in spring, we’ll calculate the balance due which must be paid prior to or at pickup. At that time, you can also put down a deposit to reserve your spot for the next season.

What can I store with you? Are there any restrictions?
We typically store those items that need climate-controlled storage over the winter months.  Some important things to keep in mind:

  • Vehicles must be in good mechanical and physical condition.  That means no rusty panels, no leaking fluids, and generally in good shape.
  • We don’t allow continuous access to your vehicle while it is with us.  No mechanical work or project work can be performed on your vehicle while it is with us.
  • You must have insurance coverage for your vehicle while it is with us.  We carry only insurance on the building itself, not on your vehicles.  Contact your insurance carrier to ensure you have coverage.
  • You must either remove your battery to take with you or have your battery on an approved battery tender.
  • We do provide outlets throughout the building for you to plug in your battery tenders.  You must provide your own extension cords.  Typically, a 25 foot cord is all that is needed.
  • We only allow battery tenders from the following brands: CTEK, NOCO, Schumacher, and DelTran/Battery Tender.
  • We only allow tire protectors from the Flatstopper brand.  We do not allow the cheap yellow plastic tire protectors as they do not work well on our epoxy coated floor.
  • We don’t allow you to start or run your vehicle for extended periods while it’s inside.  This is to prevent any fumes from entering the building and your fellow renter’s vehicles.

Any special payment items of note?

  • Rents are calculated by the day.
  • For all payments, only cash, debit, or credit cards are accepted.
  • Due to the Wisconsin State Sales & Use Tax code, we are required to collect sales tax of 5.5% on any boat storage fees.
